A Peek At What We are Doing in Fifth Grade

Elementary Yearbooks are now on sale ONLINE ONLY!!! The cost will be $16.00 for the full-color book. After March the 22nd the ONLINE prices will increase to $20.00 while supplies last. To order please go to:

• Commpe.pictavo.com and enter the school code 79287 and click “Shop My School”.

Don’t delay as there will only a limited supply after 3/22/19. All yearbooks will need to be ORDERED ONLINE. There will not be any yearbooks available for purchase in the Zach office at the end of the year. This is the first opportunity to purchase a Zach yearbook. If you think that you have already ordered one it was probably for your Middle or High School student. Reminder fliers were sent home in Friday Folders on February the 22nd.

This week we started our next writing task - Animal Interviews. We’ll be doing the research and writing during class. For homework, your child needs to create a puppet for their presentation. We’ll begin practicing our presentations on Monday, March 11th so students need to have their puppets with them that day.

After Spring Break, we will begin CMAS testing. Students in fifth grade take ELA (Reading and Writing), Science, and Math. Students will be taking ...

the ELA test - Tues., April 2nd - Thurs., April 4th,
the Science test - Tues., April 9th & Wed., April 10th, and
the Math test - Tues., April 16th - Thurs., April 17th.

We test in the mornings from 10:15 to 12:40. If at all possible, please avoid appoints on these days which might require your child to be absent. It is also important that students not leave during the test, as students must finish the test the day they start. Unfortunately, this is a lot of testing that we as teachers are required to administer. As a team, we do our best to keep as much instruction time intact without overwhelming the students.

Report Cards for the second trimester came home today. If you have any questions, please contact me or the subject area teacher.

You can find all the newsletters for the year and other fun pictures including a video of Annabelle’s “Who Knew” at our classroom blog http://khalesclass.blogspot.com/.
