A Peek At What We are Doing in Fifth Grade

Report cards came home today. Please take some time and discuss it with your child. I’d recommend that you start with the Personal Development areas. These skills are just as essential, some would even argue that they are even more essential than the academic areas, to being successful in life. Ask your child what they are most proud of and why then what they think they need to do to improve in. Whether it’s “take my time on my work” or “ask questions when I am stuck,” I find students often know what they need to do. They just need encouragement to do it.

If after reviewing your child’s report, you and your child are concerned about a subject, please contact me or his or her subject area teacher. I’ve posted each of our emails below.

We’ll have our first ROAR reward day on Tuesday, November 20th. Students have been saving their ROAR tickets so that they can purchase different ways to spend their afternoon. Some of the options are additional recess or a snack, snuggle, and read. Each opportunity has a different value so the more tickets they’ve earned the better their choices. Students who have not saved their tickets may spend their time reading or working on school work in study hall.

A Peek At What We are Doing in Fifth Grade

Congratulations to all our fifth graders who were recognized for their “Fifth Grade Awesomeness.”



Thank you to everyone who helped with the Halloween party by either donating supplies, helping to set up, clean up, or running a game. The kids had a good time.

The students don’t have school on Monday, November 12th to allow the teachers time to get report cards completed. Your child’s report card will come home on Friday, November 16th.
